A Lenci figurine entitled ‘TROFEO’ or translated ‘TROPHY’ by Helen Konig Scavini.. (Ref OCT 3031)

£3,500.00

An amazing LENCI figurine entitled TROFEO or TROPHY. Designed by Elene (Helen) Konig Scavini.
Helen König Scavini (1886-1974) was born in Turin, to an Austrian mother and a German father. Her personality, her predisposition for Art made her travel a lot in Europe which led her to Germany, where she graduated as a teacher in Düsseldorf in 1907.

In 1915 Helen returns to Turin, where she meets and marries Enrico Scavini. After the loss of her first child from Spanish Flu, Helen took up the heart-breaking hobby of making dolls that she imagined could have been toys for her daughter. The story is tragic, but out of König’s heartbreak came wonderful ceramics that tell a history of Italian ceramic manufacturing.

I have had this figurine in my collection for some time now but now time to move on and let another collector enjoy it as I have over the years.
The figure measures 20 inches high and is in good condition having NO damage, chips or cracks.
